In 1955, the Montemaggis purchased a plot of land on the beach at Torre Pedrera and the "Bottega di Alimentari" (grocery shop), thus marking the beginning of the long story of Hotel Estate. Among brushwood, read thickets and fishing-nets tourism was slowly developing in the area at that time and Lino Montemaggi, a courageous, enterprising countryman, happened to turn up at Torre Pedrera among the first pioneers. However, buying a plot of land on the beach seemed a rather bad bargain at first, in so far as erosion was going to make the strip of sands narrower and narrower and the violence of the sea risked to shift again and again the foundations of the original building. Anger and tears have made of it a little paradise!

The passion, courage and firmness of this family have made that amazingfr and finally to a hotel: Hotel ESTATE is now a very nice establishment, continuously keeping up with progress and enjoying a splendid position right on the beach and after 40 years of experience it is still run by the Montemaggis who believe in what they are doing and love to be at thier guests' service.
